What is Decidio

Decidio is an online meeting site that invites richer collaboration among different people. To break that down further Decidio has the main functionality to any big-name voice and video call with the addition of meetings. Meetings can be broken down into different events with each event serving a different purpose. Decidio currently features 16 different events. Some examples include sticky notes, whiteboards, group ranking, polls, and much more. The events can be connected in a way that the user chooses to form a meeting. The way they connect the meeting is up to the user with full control. In addition, they can enable guided events, breakout rooms, and reactions. The combination of all these helps the user to accomplish Decidio's main goal of group collaboration.

Our Job

Our Job was to come up with new meeting types and any other improvements we could think of. The results we decided on were three new meeting types and a gallery feature to highlight each of Decidio's features.

Token Meeting

The token meeting is a graphics-based meeting based on the idea of assigning tokens to different groups. These groups can be anything the meeting admin desires and the tokens can be anything the admin deems necessary. An example use case could be funding for clubs where each group is a club and each token represents an amount of money. Another example would be paper reviews where the admin can import papers from colloquium and make the groups users and they can decide who reviews whose paper.

Slider Meeting

The slider meeting takes the idea of an answering form and adds a twist to it to allow for both its standard use and collaboration. The slider meeting has three question types. Likert, Sldier, and Dual Slider. Each can be modified in unique ways making the possibilities endless. The sliders can be used for budget, temperature, count, 1 through 10, modified scales, and much more. After the user submits the averages are displayed and discussion can begin.

Red Light Green Light Meeting

The Red Light, Green Light meeting(RLGL) is a meeting that plans to tackle the problem of focusing on which problems are the most important. The meeting will take in a list of problems the admin provides and they will then be asked how many rounds they want to have and how many rounds they want each user to eliminate each round. In the meeting, there will be a list of the problem and the user will need to select the problem they deem not as important. The round will conclude when the number of votes necessary are reached to move on. After the items that had the most votes will be eliminated and the rest of the items will remain. This will continue for as many rounds as the admin selected. This could be used in a software engineering team if they have an approaching deadline and a list of issues they need to fix. This could be used to shrink the list the the most important issues.

Gallery

While the gallery is not a meeting type, it is a tool that is beneficial for Decidio overall as it greatly improves accessibility to new users. The gallery is a way for the user to pick the meeting type they feel best fits with their needs. On the meeting creating form the admin is asked to pick between 16 different meeting types with no definition of each. To eliminate the testing aspect of each meeting to find out what they do we plan to add a gallery page that defines each meeting type, pre-existing and new. In addition, it will feature a small 5-second GIF of each meeting type.
