AFFORDABLE

Overview
Over this semester, we had the pleasure of working with Sean Pannella and Alex Campbell from the AFFORDABLE team. AFFORDABLE is a volunteer non-profit with a goal of improving community healthcare. They aim to do this by developing an application that connects individuals to healthcare systems for charity, services, and medical debt, reducing barriers to healthcare access and improving resource distribution.
Our Product
The goal for this semester is to incorperate monetary transfer systems into the existing AFFORDABLE platform, allowing charity organizations and local support groups to efficiently send resources to their target demographics. Additionally, allowing HUG recipient to be able to claim their funds to meet their needs. Users need to trust the AFFORDABLE platform, so these systems must be secure and trackable. To this end we're integrating the AFFORDABLE service with a trusted online payment processor while creating an easy to use interface for users to make and view transactions. Finally, a Covid-19 fund application has been incorporated to help out in the current crisis. This allows users to submit applications with image proof and later withdraw the given funds.
