International Collegiate Programming Contest

Team meetings weekly and practice sessions/tryouts selected Saturdays

For more information, email us.

We're looking for capable problem-solvers to join the UMCP team. Team selection will be based on performance in local contests to be held before the regionals in the fall. A strong background in Algorithms (CMSC 351 and 451) is helpful, but everyone is welcome to participate in the local contests.

Even if you don't think you'll be ready/able to compete this year, we'd still like to have a team start preparing for next year so don't let this stop you. Juniors who will be able to compete again next year are especially encouraged to get involved. To be eligible to compete, you must have been born in or after 1984 OR have started your post-secondary education in or after 2003. If you don't meet the criteria, we may be able to petition for an exception. You must be currently enrolled at least half time (6 credits).

Resume Book

As a benefit of participation in ACM events, members can submit their resumes for our official resume file. Once a semester the file will be reviewed by Career Center staff, and anyone with serious errors will be referred for an appointment. This file will be made available to all employers with whom we have contact.

To qualify for the resume book, you must have done at least one of the following each semester:

Come to an ACM meeting (be sure to sign in)

Be an ACM Student Member (apply through us or send us your member number for verification)

Participate in an ACM sponsored programming contest tryout

Be a volunteer at any ACM event

To submit your resume, please email a copy to acmpres at cs umd edu. Plain text or PDF, use your name as the file name. Look for a confirmation email.
